George Vine has worked in community development for over 28 years beginning with architecture and urban planning for private firms and local governments and transitioning to community development finance after completing graduate studies at UCLA. During the 80’s and 90’s, as a construction loan officer for several California banks, Mr. Vine financed land development and single family tract and commercial construction for many of California’s largest developers. Mr. Vine ended his banking career as a senior executive in charge of portfolio quality for the developer banking portfolio of First Interstate Bank of California – a $1 billion + portfolio of construction loans on projects throughout the state. In that capacity he approved all extensions of credit from the bank’s 5 developer banking centers.
