Acutts Real Estate Agents - Real Estate Directory

The Acutts name is synonymous with property and success that dates back more than 150 years. It is the surname of one of Durbans most illustrious families, a family that has through the generations, contributed significantly to the development of the city and now the country. It is also one of South Africas top 10 real estate franchise groups, a major industry role player started by Robert Acutt in 1851 as R Acutt & Sons, Land Auctioneers and Real Estate Agents. Today, Acutts Estate Agents is a multi-faceted national entity. It comprises more than 150 franchises and outlets around South Africa, and offers a full range of real estate services, from residential sales and letting, new developments, and commercial and industrial to farms and vacant land, leisure and investments. This is the proud inheritance of Pat Acutt, a fifth generation Acutt. Along with Brenda, his wife, a Director and group MD Owen Dormehl, the team has ensured unprecedented growth for the company, which expanded outside KwaZulu-Natal borders in 2003. The location was the Western Cape, where Kevin Delport became the companys regional manager. This momentous step was followed by the establishment of a second regional office in 2005 in Gauteng with Dr Gerty du Toit in the senior position. Owens wife Amanda also plays an important role, managing Acutts group statistics. Pat is as dedicated to the success of Acutts as his predecessors, who over the past 156 years were involved in transactions concerning almost every piece of real estate in Durban. His curriculum vitae also indicates his commitment to the industry as a whole, as evidenced by his serving two terms of office as chairman of the Institute of Realtors, Durban and Natal Coast. In addition, he has also been a national councilor of the Institute and national chairman of its Residential Specialist Division. Owen Dormehl, too, has contributed to the industry, most recently in his capacity as chairman of the IEASA (DNC). Following in the familys proud tradition is Pats son Jonathan, a sixth generation Acutt who recently joined the company as National Referral Manager and heads up Acutts Bridging Finance division.
